Are you confused when you think you have decided that Praline Rose LipSense is perfect for you until you start looking around the internet at other LipSense color charts and realize that the Praline Rose LipSense does not remotely look the same as the original one that you saw?
Finding an accurate LipSense color chart is a request that I receive from prospective new customers multiple times a week. When I am contacted by a new customer by phone or email I will immediately respond by saying that… I feel your pain! LipSense semi permanent lipcolor and the internet are absolutely fabulous however color does not necessarily photograph on the internet to the exact shade. You wanting the perfect shade of LipSense to arrive in your mailbox is not to much to ask and I am here to serve you. Please! Please! Please! Do not hesitate to call or email me for the exact description of the LipSense colors you are considering.
Do not forget that when you 1st purchase LipSense that you will want to choose the starter set which includes a Lip Sense color of your choice as well as the gloss of your choice and the Oops remover. All three products are necessary elements to your success with LipSense.
Don’t forget with LipSense you wear 3 layers which means that just 3 colors offer you 27 different lipstick combinations. That makes it pretty simple to arrive at your perfect color.
Wanting a color that is sheer with no pearl or glitter. I generally like to have three colors on hand to coordinate with outfits (coral, plum, and pink). Any suggestions? I tried Praline Pose and Carmel Apple and didn’t care for the lack of transparency.
The best Lipsense color I have found for me is the Dusty Rose. Does Dusty Rose fit into your formula for making teeth appear whiter? What other color would complement Dusty Rose and (if I’m lucky) have the blue tint that would help the whitness factor? My skin is olive tone.
My daughter has a pale complection with strawberry blonde hair.
Thanks,
Paula
Hi! Paula,
Well….Not exactly. Dusty Rose lipsense is a brown based color and would be very simple to add a blue tint to make your teeth appear whiter. It always makes to happy to say that you have options…
1. If you absolutely love the Dusty Rose then I would just use Sheerberry Lipsense as your 3rd layer. It is the blue based counter part to Dusty Rose.
2. You could just top off your Dusty Rose Lipsense with our highlighter Pink Champagne which will only slightly tone down your Dusty Rose. Understated but nice
3. My current favorites are 3rd layer Pink Ice or Rose Ice and have been adding Roseberry as my 1st & 2nd layer with Dusty Rose on top.
I hope that all the above doesn’t confuse you too much.
What color of lipsticks is your daughter currently wearing? The reason I asked is because my daughter only wears very light shades.
Let me know!
Carol
Hi Carol,
How does Praline Rose compare to Praline Pave. I have the praline pave but tend to like colors without shimmer and the praline pave has the shimmer to it.
Hi! Dee Dee,
Praline Pave Diamond LipSense is Praline Rose LipSense with Diamond Dust instead of a slight glimmer that is in the original Praline Rose.
You would probably prefer the Praline Rose because the “glimmer” to it is very understated and many women do not even realize it’s existence in the shade.
Hello,
I also have been using Praline Pave. I want a very natural look. This color gives that to me with 2 coats. When I put on the 3rd layer it looks a little “dressed-up” to me. Is there another color that I can use 3 layers and not look too made up? I had rather not mix colors if possible. Also which gloss looks the most natural? Thank you,
Teresa
Hi! Theresa,
I am concerned about steering you in a direction that will not necessarily compliment your coloring.
Cappuccino Lipsense is a favorite of many woman although I have seen very few that I feel are putting their Best face forward with the extreme nothingness of this color. It is however a very popular shade for those thirty somethings.
Baguette Beige Diamond LipSense would probably be a viable option provided you do not turn the color a bit too peach. I love this shade as a layering piece for many other lipsense lipcolors.
Glossy Gloss is your best bet because it will look a bit glossy at first but will offer maximum moisture for your lips while absorbing fast and not appearing noticeable.
carol-nice website……….
Carol,
PLUM works very well for me. If I want softer color I top with PIT STOP PINK.
Now I am looking for something with a purple cast, not too dark. Suggestions?
I am a classic “summer”, almost red head with pinkish complexion.
Victoria,
Are you aware that Pit Stop Pink has been discontinued?
Sad to say that there is nothing in the SeneGence line that is close although I have plenty of customers that use Mauve Ice or Sugar Plum to lighten/soften Plum.
Mauve Ice is lighter purple Mauve with a hint of shimmer much the same as Pit Stop Pink.
Sugar Plum is quite a bit lighter than Mauve Ice and has a more pronounced silver undertone sparkle.
Have you ever tried Sheer Berry LipSense? It is a purple based Mauve with a rich deep hue.
I am someone that likes alot of options but in the end you would probably enjoy Mauve Ice.
Hi,
I’m looking for the most natural brown based pinkie nude there is. I got nude but it goes too red brown on me. Should I try Cappucino? I want something that gently fills the lips out and gives me only the barest hint of colour. I am blond with green/blue eyes and yellow based skin.
So sorry for the tardy reply! and really have no Idea how I overlooked you inquiry.
Have you tried Blush LipSense? or Praline Rose? If you enjoy a nothingness (maybe barest)color then you will like Cappucino LipSense.
I believe that the best option for you would be the following combination:
2 layers of Cappuccino
1 layer of Pink Shimmer LipSense
and top it off with Pearl Gloss
PRETTY!
Carol,
This will be my first time to use the lipsense, I have been looking for a longlasting lipcolor that will not rub off.
I wanted to find out about the color Rose Ice…..
On the color chart it looks purple but when I went to other websites that actually had a picture of the product it looked like a frosted pink which is what I like.
Could you please let me know the color shade..
Thank You
Tracy
Hi! Tracy,
So sorry that my response was a bit delayed
I just sent your order out yesterday and noticed that you did not order the Rose Ice LipSense.
It is a GORGEOUS! and not purple at all except for the fact that it is a medium toned Frosted Pink that is cooler toned.
The Summer Love Lipsense that you ordered is more sheerer, lighter Coral rather than a pure pink.
If you like a very sheer, pinky look then you would probably enjoy wearing two layers of Summer Love with One layer of Rose Ice on top followed by Pearl Gloss.
Hope that clears up any confusion!!
What can be layered with Sheer Berry to lighten it up a bit or complement it. Going on a cruise and wearing purples & pinks.
Terri! Please accept my sincerest apology for this ridiculous tardy response.
and a very simple answer…Pink Champagne Lipsense is perfect.
hi carol,
just found your site over google. i was searching for a good color chart for the lipsense classic colors. I found some but not the color i am looking for. its for my mother-in-law, she needs a nude color with a slight pinkish underton. i was thinking of praline rose or blush? her lips are big and she wears not often lipstick but she wants one that is looking natural and match her skintone. if you want i can send you a photo from her.. i dont know what i have to buy.. that is so difficult 🙂
Jasmine,
Blush LipSense is a cooler toned pinky beige brown and Praline Rose is a bit warmer toned light brown with a slight touch of pink.
Both lipcolors would be very natural.
Please do send a photo as that makes my job very simple.
I am blond, from a bottle, fair and older. I am probably in the warm tones category. I am thinking of peach or salmon or the summer something or other. Don’t want shimmer as I think it makes old lips look wrinkled! What do you suggest??
Allie,
Both Peach & Samon Lipsense are great however, if you are looking at Summer Sunset, it is one of my top picks for
this season. Top it off with Pearl Gloss.
Hope to hear from you.
Dear Carol:
I prefer my Lipsense to be close to the actual color of my lips, but a few shades darker to emphasize my lips. I have slightly yellow-tinged, pale skin and dark red/orange (colored) hair with green eyes.
On my screen, Berry looks close to a dark natural lip color, but it may be too blue for my skin and hair. Could you make a suggestion?
Thank you
Heather
Love to make recommendations! Berry Lipsense is entirely too blue and to deep for you tone.
First, we need to agree that Lips generally have a Pink tone that oftentimes appear red?
I have also found that most women prefer a bit of brown with a pink undertone to create a more neutralized color which
brings me to Raisin Lipsense if you want to be deep in tone and Dusty Rose if you prefer a bit understated.
I often see colors in other lipsticks that I like, or ones I see in photos that I’d like to match…is there any way I could send pictures of the colors I like and have you tell me which LipSense shades might be closest?
Yes! That makes my job very easy when you send me swatches of shades that you already enjoy.
Sometimes it will take a couple of shades of LipSense to arrive at a perfect signature shade for you.
I look forward to working with you.
Hi, i’m a redhead– auburn with fair skin– i’ve used apple cider and like a natural look, sometimes like moca and orangy shades as well– which colors would you recommend for me?
So many Lipsense shades that look fabulous with your coloring!
2 Layers of Burnt Orange and Top it of with 1 layer of Kiss Me Katie would look Soft & Pretty and another fabulous fall combination for you would be 2 layers of Carmel Latte and top it off with 1 layer of Persimmon followed by Sand Gloss.
If you would consider a couple of lighter natural Shades like Kiss Me Katie, Beige Champagne, Carmel Latte then it opens up the door to wear a deeper Shade as a first or second layer.
Please let me know if you would like further recommendations!
Hi! If you have swatches of lipsense it will definitely help me! Please please!
Thank you! Much love! 🙂
Hi, I have heard that LipSense is fabulous. I currently wear cover girl long lasting lipstick but it appears too “caked on”… not natural.
I have medium length dark brown hair, brown eyes, medium complexion & in my 50’s. I wear lipstick if I don’t put on any other makeup on.
The color clothes that I wear most is red, black, white, turquoise & med. pink sometime.
What color/colors would you recommend and also which gloss for the starter kit?
Thank you.
Barb
Can you please describe and compare Caramel Apple to Blush and Praline Rose… I like mid cool rose-pink-mauve that is more opaque.. not frost please
also do you have anything that is iredescent in the jewel pink family.. I used to have this gorgeous medium opal cool coral rose that had a hint of magenta in it
also wondering about Plumeria, Rhubarb, Summer Treat…although not too dark or berry please.. which one has more pinkish tone…. please compare
big thanks!
I have a few questions….
1) What is the difference between “Plum” and the color “Plum Pudding”? I have Plum Pudding but its too dark. I love colors with blu undertones that are a slight pink/purple in color, but not too dark or too bright. I am trying to find the right combination to create a color similar to Mac’s lipstick color “Violetta” which might have been closer to the discontinued color ‘Pit Stop Pink.’
2) What is the difference between the color’s “Fuschia” and “Fantasy Fuschia”?
3) Is “Fantasy Fuschia” discontinued?
4) Is ‘Kiss for a Cause” the same as “Fantasy Fuschia”?
5) Is the color sheer berry pretty dark? In the pictures, it looks similar to Raisin or Currant.
I have dark brown hair and a very light olive skin tone. Colors with yellow undertones always appear a bit more orange on me so I’ve tried to steer clear of those. I love sheer & soft purply-pink colors that don’t look flourescent/bright. My end goal is to find the combination that would get me closest to that Mac color called Violetta. I’ve purchased so many colors over the past 2 years and they usually look different in person compared to the photos on the internet so any info you can provide would be much appreciated. Thanks!!
Praline Rose blends right into my lips and makes it look like I’m not wearing lipstick at all. Sheer Berry is a little darker than I’d like. Is there something in between I can try — or something I can put under or over either of these two shades? Thanks!
Hi,
I have strawberry blond hair and navy blue/gray eyes, with very, very pale freckly skin. I tend to suit warm colours.
I have tried Apple Cider and liked it but feel it is quite bright, and would like to try some more natural daytime colours. What colors would you recommend?
Also which of the reds would be best for my coloring?
Thanks
Hi I need to ask you what it’s the best color for natural look, I’m a smoker and I want natural color on my lips that look like soft pink color…I was thinking about cappuccino or praline rose or kiss me Katie or spice ice….which one out of this 4 colors its the best for me, btw I don’t want the color that came out too pink, I just want to look as natural as possible, my first choice it’s cappuccino, please advise, thx
I have olive skin and would like something close to lilac. Would plum be good and to lighten it with mauve ice, sugar plum or army pink?
Dear Carol, which lipsense color would you recommend for an asian woman like me? The one that look natural on me,i’m a dark hair with black eyes and medium skin tone? Thank you so much.
I currently have plumeria and caramel apple, which I like, but I am looking along the lines of something berryish, with red and pink, that is more subtle and has some shimmer to it. Any suggestions? Thx!
Hi I am a 64 yr old copper redhead and have a very hard time with lipstick colors. I want to try this brand but what color? I like a natural look not bright. In pictures praline rose looks good but has been described as mauve and mauve isn’t good for me. So ? Apple cider blush nude neutral? Or any suggestions?
Hi! Kaye…Once we arrive at your perfect shade of LipSense, I promise you will never go back to conventional LipSense. Apple Cider is a perfect Neutral for someone with your coloring and I would top it off with Sand Gloss.
Looking forward to working with you.
What colors look good on african american dark skin?
A few of my favorite LipSense for you are Blu Red, Fly Girl, Brick, Mulled Wine and Purple Reign. Another fabulous combination would be 2 layers of Blu Red with on Layer of Newest one of the newest shades: Violette (pinky purple with a hint of shimmer)
Hello,
I have light blonde hair and a fair complexion. I like the look of caramel ape but was also told sheer berry would be good for me. My lips are naturally a darker pink/red. I demo’s aussie rose and it looked really pink on me. I was thinking of getting caramel apple, pink champagne and sheer berry. What do you think? I already own Kathy’s kisses.
Thanks for your help!
Heather
i like the brownish red of mojave and one coat is just about perfect but three coats makes it entirely way too dark. is there a color that would be very close to the one coat of mojave when applied as three coats (it could be a tad bit lighter than one coat of mojave is necessary) but don’t really want to go darker thank you
